Gardening

Growing up on a cherry orchard in a small farming community in Eastern Washington shaped my perspective on homesteading early in life. I spent nearly a decade in Phoenix, Arizona as a teen and young adult, slowly figuring out the learning curve that comes with gardening in the Valley of the Sun.

Now settled back home in the Inland Northwest, I have a new appreciation for gardening with the seasons, by the moon phases, and for food preservation. Winter is not the prime time to grow veggies here in the pacific northwest like it is in Phoenix, and now more than ever, it is so important to be educated on preservation techniques to avoid food scarcity and to also keep our produce as organic as possible.
